Gaylynn Ribeira

GayLynn Ribeira specializes in oil portraits and figurative paintings with an element of abstraction or whimsy. She received a BFA in illustration at BYU and has studied at the Art Students League of New York, at the Boston Museum of Fine Art and at the Sadie Valeri Atelier in San Francisco. She was recently awarded Best in Show at the Pacific Art League's 100th Anniversary Exhibit, and is preparing for a solo show there later this year. She has received numerous awards from the Portrait Society of America, most recently as a Select Fifty finalist in the International Portrait Competition, and as a finalist in both the Commissioned Portrait and Out of the Box Categories of the Members Only Competition. Her paintings have been published in books and international magazines, and have been collected by museums and private collections around the world. She also loves teaching. She began teaching art to private students during her time in Boston and later began teaching workshops at the Pacific Art League in Palo Alto and figure drawing classes at Cryptic Animation Studios in Los Gatos. Her greatest joy is spending time with her husband and kids. They are often found playing ping pong, riding bikes, meditating, and gaming together. In her free time GayLynn enjoys running, journaling, listening to podcasts, and working on her cooking, photography, and digital painting skills.
