A Theme That Defines His Life

"I love painting our Savior looking up to His Father in perfect submission. I named this piece Look to God and Live because that was the theme of His entire life. No matter how crazy, confusing, and dark this world gets, if we can just look to God in our day to day life, we will be just fine.”

Finding Light in the Darkness
The inspiration for this work also connects to the words of scripture:
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” (Proverbs 3:5–6)
For Dan, this verse became a personal anchor. As he described in his artist video:
“Every time I get a little scared that I’m an artist and think, oh my gosh, am I going to make it? I look at that plaque and I just remind myself, stop looking around. Look up, trust God, acknowledge Him in all things and He will direct my path.”

A Message for Today
Originally painted in 2020, this piece resonates in a world still full of uncertainty. The figure of Christ, illuminated as the Light of the World, dispels the fear, depression, and loneliness that so often feel overwhelming.
It reminds us that the greatest pursuit of mankind is knowing God, and that such knowledge comes only as we open our hearts fully to Him. In doing so, He reveals Himself—granting peace, wisdom, and love enough to carry us through the storms.
