Story Behind the Art

In order for us to know anyone, we must be willing to spend adequate time with them. No one knows us better than our Savior, and He is always reaching out and waiting for us to make the effort to come to better know Him. I intentionally tried to convey a sense that Jesus is there to stay with the lamb. You'll notice that He is sitting on the ground crossed-legged, and that He has removed His outer garments/clothing and has set it on the ground beside Him. In other words, He doesn't have somewhere else He needs to be soon or something else that needs to get done. Finding and ministering to this particular sheep is not just one more thing on a to-do list. Rather, spending time and showing love towards this one sheep is His entire purpose.
I am grateful for His limitless power and capacity to be there for us when we feel alone or forgotten, and I hope we can follow His example in taking time to show His love to those around us and get to know them.
