My art journey began in 2003 while mixing songs for my vocal cd “i am free”, a celebration of God’s healing in my life from memories of childhood abuse, I heard a voice whisper in my right ear “go buy plates and paint on them”.  So I did.  I was inspired to paint my emotions through the colors of the chakras—the seven vital energy centers within us. The vivid hues of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and purple serve as conduits for releasing and balancing our inner energies and those around us.

That same voice also guided me as far as how much paint I should use, the colors and the technique. Never having painted before, I was amazed at what was pouring out of me as I glided my tools across metal and acrylic in one stroke!  And most importantly, at what I was feeling inside of me.  Painting these vibrant colors literally catapulted me from darkness to light.  I discovered that whether bold or quiet, color vibrations empower.  The impact of my stroke is when that vibration of energy and my acrylic paints collide. An organic flow.  It’s always exciting for me to see what’s on the other side.

At the time, I never thought of my art as a career.  It was a gift healing my wounds.  But as it’s found its way globally to hotels, commercial and residential spaces, I continually ask God to touch my color scapes with healing light energy so that my viewers will experience the internal shift of peace and joy as I did.  At my one-woman gallery show, a couple walked in from Seattle and said “this art is so happy!”  Mission accomplished.
