The trains are running out of Kyiv now and we don’t know when the war will stop them next. As if war were not horror enough, it is also the perfect environment for human traffickers focusing on orphaned children and displaced families.
Deliver, a UT based, international adoption agency has used its connections with the Ukraine government to establish a modern-day underground railroad to evacuate these children from Kyiv. Now. And they need our help to find homes for these children.
A fund-raising event, featuring the art from Utah artist Martin Ricks, will be held this Friday evening, 6pm – 8 pm at the Peteetneet Museum in Payson. Founders of Deliver, Bonnie and Brett Hilton, discussed the evacuation plan and the need for participating families in Utah to host and adopt the orphans.
Mr. Ricks’ original painting “Bloom” and a $20.00 poster of the painting will be offered as part of the fund raising. The poster features the blue sky and wheat fields of Ukraine along with the Ukrainian phrase “We all grow where we are planted, so take strong root and bloom.”
