Description
"Father Bless Them" illustrates Christ''s divine protection and advocacy. Lee describes her desire for the piece, "something where... the whole image of Christ [is] over these people, which represent us." The painting reflects Christ''s role as a guardian and advocate his body language conveying his protective nature. Lee emphasizes, "He''s wrapping them all up and protecting them." This image is meant to reassure viewers of Christ''s unwavering support, as "our advocate [who] died for us and loves us." The artwork symbolizes Christ''s commitment to humanity, suggesting, "he''s gonna fight for us," which Lee believes encapsulates the spirit of the title "Father Bless Them." She hopes this painting will resonate as an invitation to trust in Christ''s healing and loving embrace, to "crawl into his arms" and be comforted by his presence. Lee''s passion for this piece is clear as she describes her wish for viewers to experience the painting''s deeper meaning, "I love this one so much. It really, again, it''s another invitation to trust Christ." Ultimately, she sees it as a representation of Christ''s guidance towards Heavenly Father, expressing, "And then he''s going to take you to Heavenly Father and it''s just going to be good." About the Artist
About the Artist
Kate Lee's art is a heartfelt showcase of her love for her family and her faith, brought to life
through her watercolors. From the time she was young, Kate had a knack for drawing, even
when it meant getting in trouble for not paying attention in class. Her art evolved over time,
moving from simple cartoons to the rich layers of watercolor painting, as she searched for a way
to more accurately express what she was feeling inside. Kate balances her life as an artist with
being a mom and wife, and she still finds time for her love of mountain biking.
