The Bible contains a single verse describing the Savior's childhood, ®And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.® - Luke 2:40
I could imagine Mary looking on while her Son played with his brothers and sisters (Matt. 13:55-56). I could see Joseph smiling while Jesus laughed and played with friends and family. I wanted to capture that magical innocence of childhood, which blesses our lives for such a short moment and then leaves us longing for the sound of little feet and the laughter of little children.
I am reminded of a song I learned as little girl:
Jesus once was a little child, A little child like me; And he was pure and meek and mild, As a little child should be.
So, little children, Let’s you and I Try to be like him, Try, try, try.
