12 X 24 Oil on Canvas 12 X 24 Oil on Canvas "And she shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth fruit in her season; her leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever she doeth shall prosper." - Psalm 1:3 I think the metaphors we use are important. Sometimes I catch myself saying things like, "I need to recharge" or "I''m going to crash" as if I were a computer or a machine. But, especially with the new AI technologies, I am realizing how I am not good at the same things machines are good at, nor do I really want to be. In my quest to find metaphors that feel good and life affirming, I am exploring ones that relate my experiences to nature. Trees that grow and sway slowly. Trees that have a season of growth leading into a season of harvest followed by shedding their leaves and entering a season of dormancy. Trees and plants that thrive in community. Part of the original show "Finding Peace" by Lovetta Reyes-Cairo October 2026 at Havenlight Gallery, Orem Utah. Original artwork of Oil on Canvas 12" x 24". Painted 2026. Unframed.
About the Artist
About the Artist
Lovetta Reyes-Cairo is a Utah-based figurative artist whose work explores motherhood, spirituality, healing, and enduring love. Raised in an artistic family, she developed a deep appreciation for beauty and creative expression early in life, but it was through personal loss and motherhood that her art took on deeper meaning.
After the death of her first two sons in infancy, painting became a sacred space for processing grief and seeking hope. Her work often begins as a feeling or written phrase before evolving into carefully composed, thoughtfully developed paintings that can take months—or even years—to complete. Through intimate portrayals of the human figure, Lovetta captures vulnerability, strength, and quiet faith.
Working from her home studio in Orem, Utah, she creates art that feels both deeply personal and universally understood—grounding viewers in love, light, and the beauty that remains even in life’s hardest seasons.
