I have always wanted to create my own version of The Sower, despite the countless artworks dedicated to this theme. There is something timeless in this image: a solitary figure casting seeds into the earth, trusting in what cannot yet be seen. Through the image of the sower, Christ’s parable reveals the different ways people receive or reject truth and wisdom. The seed becomes a symbol of the Word, falling into the human heart, while its fate depends on the condition of the soil. That soil is shaped by the personal choices each person makes. We are all both the sower and the ground. We scatter, we receive, we resist, and sometimes, if we are fortunate, something takes root. I am a self-taught artist, born and raised in Ukraine. I was converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1993 when it first started in my country. My journey as an artist began during my teenage years, but I put it aside to focus on my academic pursuits. In 2020, I reignited my passion for creating, returning to the affection I had once set aside.
In my art, I strive to find greatness in the simple things and highlight the often-overlooked beauty in the world around us. I aim to explore meaningful moments, often incorporating hidden details that reflect truth and invite deeper reflection. I firmly believe in the transformative power of art—not just as a visual medium, but as a way to reach into our homes and connect profoundly with our spirits.
