James’ Hunchback Everyman sits on a checkerboard that extends infinitely into the universe. The hunch is not a physical deformity, it is a symbol of the burdens we carry. The checkerboard is the playing field of life, night and day, good and bad, light and dark.This symbolism extends to the flower embroidered on his shoulder - Life, and The Skull pin on his hat - Death.

Yet, this guy even with his hump and his imperfections, and with the overwhelming expanse that surrounds him, he is not afraid to let his light shine. We are candles in the darkness for each other. So it’s important to let your light shine, no matter how small it is. You may be One Light, but together we light the universe.
