49 X 40 Pen and Acrylic on Canvas

For some, the Christmas season is a frantic rush, a time of financial stress and loneliness. This year, in an attempt to focus on the true reason we celebrate Christmas, I decided to paint the nativity donkey. As I worked, I couldn’t help but to feel grateful for the majestic role this humble animal played and to imagine how it must have felt to quietly observe the unfolding of the greatest gift the world has ever received. Like the donkey, may we each find joy in serving others and experience the peace that can only be found in and through our Saviour Jesus Christ.
